- Born in Sofia, Bulgaria, study in the English Gymnasium of Sofia
- 1974 graduated in PhD in Biochemistry, University of Berne, Switzeralland.
- 5 years work in biochemical pharmacology at the Pharmacological Institute of the University of Berne
- 26 years as bee product scientist at the Swiss Bee Research Centre, www.apis.admin.ch
- Founder and present vice-chairman of the world honey science network International Honey Commission, www.bee-hexagon.com/network.htm
- Since 2006 retirement from active research and active in reviewing the knowledge in Bee Product and in Apimedical Science
- Author of more than 350 publications in the field of bee product science
- Married, with two grown up children
